Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, when speaking behind what he thought were closed doors at the Koch brothers' retreat for the ultra-rich last June:

It’s no secret that McConnell has relied on the Koch brothers (Charles and David) in the past. The “important work” McConnell refers to is their use of dark money groups to further their political and economic interests.

It's hard to believe in this day and age there is still an organized movement against the use of Marijuana.  That is unless Marijuana can somehow cut into the profits of large pharmacy companies. It seems that is the case with the makers of OxyContin and other pain control drugs. And where is the hemp industry that could be producing oil and fiber.  Absolutely crazy!!

It has been found that many of the researchers who have advocated against legalizing pot have also been on the payroll of leading pharmaceutical firms with products that could be easily replaced by using marijuana.

Take, for example, Dr. Herbert Kleber (the DOPE above) of Columbia University. Kleber has impeccable academic credentials, and has been quoted in the press and in academic publications warning against the use of marijuana, which he stresses may cause wide-ranging addiction and public health issues. But when he's writing anti-pot opinion pieces for CBS News, or being quoted by NPR and CNBC, what's left unsaid is that Kleber has served as a paid consultant to leading prescription drug companies, including Purdue Pharma (the maker of OxyContin), Reckitt Benckiser (the producer of a painkiller called Nurofen), and Alkermes (the producer of a powerful new opioid called Zohydro).

Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) argued, “if you’re Commander-in-Chief you can’t be listening to Muslim brother advice when it’s time to stop destroying Muslim brothers.”

In 2012, Gohmert joined a small group of conservative lawmakers led by Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) to demand that the Inspectors General of four government agencies investigate “deep penetration” by the Muslim Brotherhood in the U.S. government.

Gohmert, who had previously claimed that the organization also caused the administration to bungle the investigation into the 2013 Boston bombings, went on to argue that “six top advisers to President Obama are Muslim brothers.” “These are the advisers who have opened doors for them to the president himself,” he said. “This is the kind of stuff that has to stop if we’re really going to deal with radical Islam.”

Way to Respond to Open-Carry

Walk the fuck out ..... get out of whatever establishment allows them in.  Don't pay, don't make a fuss and if the occasion arises .... say something to the staff.  Just tell them them  the Open-Carry  crazies are responsible for you leaving ...... and leaving in fear !!

The news: How should you respond to open-carry activists who carry firearms into public areas to demonstrate their love of guns? According to the blog Philosophical Questions Every Day (PQED) it's simple: just walk away.

Noting there is really "no legitimate way of determining intent" when suddenly confronted with the presence of men with guns, here's what is recommended:

My proposal is as follows: we should all leave. Immediately. Leave the food on the table in the restaurant. Leave the groceries in the cart, in the aisle. Stop talking or engaging in the exchange. Just leave, unceremoniously, and fast.

But here is the key part: don't pay. Stopping to pay in the presence of a person with a gun means risking your and your loved ones' lives; money shouldn't trump this. It doesn't matter if you ate the meal. It doesn't matter if you've just received food from the deli counter that can't be resold. It doesn't matter if you just got a haircut. Leave. If the business loses money, so be it. They can make the activists pay.

The only thing that makes us notice [the activists] at all is that they have guns and truthfully, that’s why they carry them in the first place. They want to be celebrities, heroes, and the centers of attention.
